How the anniversary calculator works

The calculator counts whole calendar days from the date you enter to today, so the day you got together is day zero and tomorrow is day one. Years and months are counted the way a calendar does it, so a relationship that started on 31 January reaches one month on the last day of February.

Your monthly anniversary falls on the same day of the month as the day you got together, or on the last day of a shorter month. Day milestones like 100, 500 and 1000 days arrive on their own schedule, which is why couples often discover a 1000-day anniversary they never knew they had.

Milestones worth celebrating

  • 100 days: the first milestone most couples notice. Recreate your first date and compare notes on how it went.
  • 1 year: the classic. Our anniversary date ideas go beyond a fancy dinner.
  • 500 days: halfway to a thousand, and a good excuse for a small surprise. See how to plan a surprise date.
  • 1000 days: a little under three years. Write your thousand-day highlight reel and read it out loud.
  • Every monthly anniversary: not a big event, just a reason to make one evening a date. Pick from our date night ideas.

FAQ

Anniversary questions

How many days have we been together?

Enter the day you got together in the anniversary calculator above. It counts every calendar day between that date and today and also shows the total in weeks, months and years.

When is our 1000-day anniversary?

Your 1000-day anniversary is 1000 days after the day you got together, a little under two years and nine months later. The calculator shows the exact date under coming milestones.

What is a monthly anniversary?

A monthly anniversary is the same day of the month as the day you got together, for example the 14th of every month. If your day does not exist in a shorter month, it falls on that month’s last day.

How do you calculate how long you have been together?

Count whole calendar days from the day you got together to today. For years and months, step through the calendar: full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. The calculator does this for you, leap years included.
